Impossible Table

Tensegrity tables are popular novelties that appear to defy gravity as only the middle string is supporting the weight of the table. This model is called the “Impossible Table” and was originally created and posted by Austin Steingrube here.

I printed all four parts together in plain white PLA plastic over five hours because it needed extra detail to keep the holes for the string open.  I superglued the two legs to the two bases, threaded twine through the corner and centre holes and pulled tight to create tension that will hold this table up and make the top part appear to float. The twine can be replaced by clear fishing line to create a much better floating effect.
